Hello. I’m Dan, also known as Nite Phire. Quixotic Requiem is my blog and personal site. I run it as a part of my network/collective, Ketsu Kaiten. I do almost all the graphic design and coding around the site. The only images I don’t lay claim to are the mini-buttons in the copyright section and some of the raw images I use for banners and the such. I do, however, claim ownership to the arrangement of those raw images. I use WordPress to handle some of the back-end content-managment stuff. Everything else I coded myself.
The term “quixotic requiem” may be a bit confusing. I’ll start with dictionary definitions. Quixotic: not sensible about practical matters; idealistic and unrealistic. Requiem: a hymn, composition, or service for the dead. By combining those two definitions we result at an idealistic and unrealistic hymn for the dead. This is a bit backwards in terms of what I mean. Most accurately put, my sentiments in choosing the title of this website would be expressed by “A Requiem For Quixotism,” that is to say, a song celebrating and mourning the death of naive idealism. I have used this website as a means to explore different areas of my mind and my life in the past, and I plan to continue to do that in the future as I grow.
